Hello! I’m Mr. MJ Smith, a passionate Middle School Mathematics Educator dedicated to transforming how students learn and experience mathematics. These principles guide me in designing inclusive, engaging lessons that meet the needs of all learners — including ELL students and Students of Determination.

 

I believe that mathematics should be relevant, meaningful, and connected to the world beyond the classroom. Through the integration of authentic UAE contexts — from analyzing the geometry of iconic landmarks like the Burj Khalifa to solving financial problems using AED currency — students see the purpose behind what they learn. My classroom encourages voice and choice, creativity, and collaboration while fostering critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
